Workshops: Students meet with KU TRIO Talent Search staff approximately once a month for 30 to 60 minutes and participate in workshops on topics such as academic preparation, career exploration, and preparing for college.

Advising: Per request, students can meet one-on-one or in small groups with KU TRIO Talent Search staff and learn more about a specific career or college topic.

Eat & Greet: Students meet with KU TRIO Talent Search staff during scheduled lunch periods and receive handouts on a variety of topics such as careers, colleges, STEM programs, academic strategies, financial aid, and scholarship information.

KU TRIO Talent Search provides engaging STEM activities for middle school and high school students. Opportunities include hands-on science activities, exposure to careers in technology and engineering, and applying mathematics in everyday life. Examples of the various STEM activities:

• Field trips to STEM businesses
• Science City activities
• Visits to research and science labs on university campuses
• Explore science and technology museums

Family Programming

KU TRIO Talent Search works with families to help them understand the value of college and how to prepare their children for college. Monthly workshops equip families with the tools to help their children become more successful in middle and high school and prepare for postsecondary education.

Workshops are offered throughout the year in English and Spanish and are open to all participants and their families. Topics include financial aid processes, financial literacy, college preparation, and the importance of rigorous study. Contact the KU TRIO Talent Search office for more information and a schedule of upcoming family workshops and events.
